Just when it appeared the Bucs turned things around, they dropped their third straight game in a 27-22 loss to the Ravens on Thursday Night Football. There weren’t many positives for the Bucs after their first drive. However, it appears they have a better option at left guard with Nick Leverett. The team fell to 3-5 on the year and is in jeopardy of falling out of first place in the NFC South. It doesn’t get much easier for the Bucs, either, with the Rams coming to Tampa in Week 9 and a trip to Germany to face the Seahawks in Week 10.

Here are the most impressive players from the Bucs’ third consecutive loss:

Nick Leverett

Leverett’s presence was immediately felt on the Bucs’ opening drive. He showed up in pass protection and noticeably opened holes for Leonard Fournette in the run game. Solid all night long, Leverett proved to be an immediate upgrade from Luke Goedeke and should be the starter going forward.

Ryan Succop

Succop once again was perfect for the Bucs and now has a league-leading 19 field goals on the year.
