Mikhail Sergachev has a lot to be thankful for this holiday season.
The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed Sergachev to a three-year contract with an average annual value of $4.8 million, Lightning GM Julien Brisebois announced Wednesday.
In 70 games last season, the 22-year-old defenseman scored a career-high 10 goals along with 24 assists. His 10 goals were second on the team for defensemen, five of them of the power-play variety, which led the defense.
Sergachev also was one of the more consistent Lightning players in last season's playoff bubble, playing in all 25 games with three goals and seven assists. He scored a goal in the Stanley Cup Final series against the Dallas Stars, and had two assists in Game 4.
The former ninth-overall pick of the Canadiens in the 2016 draft, Sergachev has scored 25 goals and 81 assists in 228 career games to go along with 124 penalty minutes and a plus-39 rating.
