Seminoles Upset #5 North Carolina Saturday Night

The Florida State Seminoles (2-3, 1-3) defeated the fifth ranked North Carolina Tar Heels (3-1, 3-1) 31-28 on Saturday night.

After taking a 7-0 first quarter lead, the Seminoles blew this game open in the second quarter. Three second quarter touchdowns built a 24-0 lead for Florida State before North Carolina got on the board. Then the Seminoles added a touchdown with twelve seconds to go in the second quarter to make it 31-7 going into halftime.

The Tar Heels pushed back in the second half, scoring two touchdowns in the third quarter to pull within 31-21. When Dwayne Brown scored a 25 yard touchdown grab with 4:58 to go in the game it looked like the Tar Heels might pull of the comeback, but the Seminoles defense locked in and held on to a 31-28 win.

Jordan Travis went 8-for-19 with 191 yards, one touchdown and one interception passing - he also rushed for 107 yards and two touchdowns in the win for Florida State. La'Damian Webb led the way rushing for Florida State with 109 yards as the Seminoles outgained North Carolina 241-184 in the win.

Florida State is next scheduled to return to action next Saturday at Louisville - kickoff is scheduled for 12 PM ET.
