Seminoles Knock Off Jacksonville State 41-24

The Florida State Seminoles (1-2) defeated the Jacksonville State Gamecocks (0-1) 41-24 on Saturday afternoon.

The Seminoles found themselves trailing early, down 14-0 in the first quarter with true freshman quarterback Tate Rodemaker guiding Florida State's fortunes. Head coach Mike Norvell made the move to Jordan Travis after that, and he was able to jumpstart a Seminoles team looking for their first win of the season. Travis went 13-for-18 for 215 yards passing, including a beautiful 41-yard touchdown to Keyshawn Helton.

Travis was helped by the best output from the running game the Seminoles have put out so far. Lawrence Toafili led the way with 99 yards on the ground, as the Seminoles finished with a season best 263 yards on the ground.

The Seminoles will look to make it two wins in a row next Saturday when they travel to Sound Bend, Indiana, to battle the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Kickoff in that game is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
