University of Miami Pulmonologist Has New Way To Treat Coronavirus Patients

A University of Miami pulmonologist of t has come up with a way to treat coronavirus patients that may prevent them from needing a ventilator. Dr. Roger Alvarez received emergency FDA approval to try using nitric oxide therapy on a patient who tested positive for COVID-19. He says the patient did so well he has left the hospital and is recovering at home. A patient would receive the drug nasally-like oxygen therapy- throughout the day to improve breathing and prevent deterioration. Dr. Alvarez is hoping to start a clinical trial within 2 weeks.
