South Florida Field Hospitals Being Erected During Coronavirus Pandemic

The big white tent where the Miami-Dade Youth Fair’s animal showcase should’ve been held is now being transformed into a field hospital for coronavirus patients. The goal is get the 250-bed hospital set up in case it's needed because of an overflow of COVID-19 patients. Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez says they have another 250-bed temporary field hospital that can be erected in 3-days if it's needed for overflow. The hospital has two doctors, twenty nurses, a kitchen, laundry and showers. Florida’s Division of Emergency Management is providing the field hospital. A similar 250-bed field hospital is alsogoing up at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport in Broward.
