Seminoles Fall To Arizona State In Sun Bowl

The Florida State Seminoles (6-7) fell to Arizona State (8-5) 20-14 on Tuesday afternoon in the Sun Bowl in El Paso, Texas.

Arizona State struck first in this game, as they built a 9-0 first half lead thanks to three field goals from Christian Zendejas. The Seminoles answered in the third quarter, though - after Ontaria Wilson scored on a 3-yard touchdown run to pull within 9-7, James Blackman hit Tamorrion Terry for a 91-yard touchdown strike that gave the Seminoles a 14-9 lead.

In the fourth quarter Arizona State pulled within 14-12 with a fourth field goal of the night. The difference in this game would prove to be a James Blackman interception being returned for a pick six to take a 19-12 lead with 10:06 to go in the game. From there the Arizona State defense held on to secure the Sun Bowl title.

James Blackman went 14-for-26 with 144 yards, one touchdown and four interceptions in the loss. Tamorrion Terry had a day for the Seminoles, pulling in 165 yards and a touchdown through the air, but it would not be enough. Arizona State quarterback Jayden Daniels went 12-for-28 with 195 yards in the victory.
