Seminoles Knock Off NC State 31-13

For one Saturday, everything was working for Willie Taggart and the Florida State Seminoles (3-2, 2-1) as they got a much needed 31-13 win over North Carolina State (3-2, 0-1) on Saturday night in Tallahassee.

Graduate transfer Alex Hornibrook got his first start at FSU filling in for quarterback James Blackman, and was tremendous as he threw for a career high 316 yards passing including three touchdowns to set the pace. He was under a lot of pressure throughout - and was sacked eight times - but was able to perform in spite of that pressure. After the Seminoles built a 17-6 halftime lead they had no trouble holding it in the second half, and were able to win back to back ACC games for the first time since November 2016.

The Seminoles are now off this week and have two weeks to prepare for the top-ranked team in the nation, who they will battle October 12th on the road.
