Vincent Testaverde Excited Yet Nervous For Bucs Final Preseason Game

If you're a Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan, you may have spent part of your Friday night watching the team take on the Cleveland Browns. Or maybe you're a Buccaneers fan thinking, it's preseason, it's no big deal. And it may not be a big deal to you but when you're a recently released free agent quarterback waiting for your next opportunity, every game including a preseason game matters.

With quarterback Blaine Gabbert suffering a dislocated shoulder to his non-throwing arm on Friday night, the Buccaneers woke up Saturday morning in the market for a quarterback. And on Saturday afternoon, they announced the signing of quarterback Vincent Testaverde Jr, who was in training camp earlier this year but was waived to make room for signings in the secondary.

Testaverde, who met with the media on Sunday following practice, stated he was watching the game on Friday night agianst the Browns when Gabbert got hurt. He also added his dad, former NFL quarterback Vinny Testaverde, who was also watching the game, called him after the injury & told him to be ready for a phone call.

Head Coach Bruce Arians informed the media Testaverde Jr needs to get in his playbook real quick because he will get the majority of the snaps on Thursday. But according to Testaverde, he's been preparing as much as he can for his chance & he will ready for his first preseason game action ever.
