(via Tampa Bay Buccaneers Communications) - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today the team has signed cornerback Jamel Dean, one of team’s two third-round picks in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Dean (6-1, 206) was selected 94th overall, out of Auburn. Dean played in 26 games at Auburn, totaling 73 tackles (4.5 for loss), 17 passes defensed, two interceptions and one sack. Entering the 2018 season, Dean was a preseason All-SEC second-team selection. He tied for the team lead in interceptions, with two, and had the second-most passes defensed, with nine. He also ranked second on the team in passes defensed in 2018, trailing only former Auburn Tiger and current Buccaneer Carlton Davis.
A native of Cocoa Beach, Florida, Dean wears No. 35 for Tampa Bay.
