Honeywell Suffers Another Elbow Injury, Done For Season

The Tampa Bay Rays were hoping to have right-hander Brent Honeywell at the major league level at some point this season, but Saturday they learned that will not happen.

Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times was the first to report that Honeywell suffered a fractured elbow while throwing a bullpen session at the team's Spring Training facility in Port Charlotte and will miss the remainder of the 2019 season.

Honeywell underwent Tommy John surgery during Spring Training in 2018, and was coming back from a nerve issue that had sidelined him from starting a rehab assignment.

The right-hander is listed as the #2 prospect in the organization by MLB.com
