Rays Wrap Up First Day Of Draft Selecting Another Pitcher

ST. PETERSBURG (WDAE) -- The Tampa Bay Rays made it three pitchers in their four selections on the first day of the Major League Baseball Draft, taking left-hander John Doxakis from Texas A&M with the 61st overall selection.

Doxakis, a junior, went 7-4 in 2019 with the Aggies in 16 starts, and posted a 2.06 ERA. In 104 2/3 innings, he allowed 80 hits and 31 runs, 24 earned, walkingnd striking out 115.
