Diaz Returns From Injured List, Alvarado Leaves For Family Emergency

ST. PETERSBURG (WDAE) -- The Tampa Bay Rays Sunday activated infielder Yandy Diaz from the injured list after missing two weeks with a left hand contusion.

Diaz was hit on the hand during the Rays' May 19 loss to the New York Yankees in the Bronx, and was placed on the 10-day injured list four days later. To mak room on theactive rosr, first baseman Nate owe was optioned to Triple-A Durham.

In addition, reliever Jose Alvarado was placed on the Family Medical Emergency List, meaning he will miss at least three days and as many as seven days. Left-hander Adam Kolark, who was optioned to Durham on Saturay, was recalled from Triple-A.
