Glasnow, Lowe Pick Up Monthly Accolades

A pair of Rays players picked up accolades for the first month of the regular season.

Pitcher Tyler Glasnow was named the American League Pitcher of the Month for the Month of April, while infielder Brandon Lowe took home honors as American League Rookie of the Month.

Glasnow made five starts in the month, going 4-0 with a 1.74 earned run average, with three of his four victories coming on the road against the Giants, White Sox, and Red Sox. Hitters batted .191/.231/.273 against him in 31 innings of work. This marks the third straight month a Rays pitcher has won the award, as Blake Snell won the award in August and September en route to last year's Cy Young Award.

For Lowe, April saw him hit .321/.385/.630 (26 for 81) with five doubles, a triple, six home runs and 17 RBI. He is the first Rays player to win the award since Wil Myers took it home in September of 2013 and followed it up by winning the American League Rookie of the Year award.
