Bucs Select Two More Defensive Backs In Third Round

After trading their original third round pick in exchange for two lower third round picks, the Buccaneers stuck to their theme of the draft & selected two more defensive players.

The Buccaneers started the third round with the sixth pick of the round & the 70th pick overall. But a trade with the Los Angeles Rams allowed the Buccaneers to acquire the 94th & 99th pick overall in the draft. And with their first pick in the third round, the Buccaneers continued their stockpiling of cornerbacks by selecting Jamel Dean from Auburn.

The Buccaneers used their second third round pick to select safety Mike Edwards from Kentucky. Edwards, a four year starter in the SEC, can play either safety or in the slot.

The Buccaneers have used their first four picks of the 2019 NFL Draft on defensive players & will finish the draft on Saturday with four more picks beginning with the 107th pick overall.
