Wendle Suffers Fractured Wrist Wednesday

ST. PETERSBURG (WDAE) -- The Tampa Bay Rays will again lose infielder Joey Wendle for a significant period of time.

X-rays showed Wendle, who was hit by a pitch by Kansas City's Jake Diekmann leading off the sixth inning and came out of the game the following half-inning, suffered a fracture in his right wrist.

Wendle had just been activated from the injured list on Sunday, after missing 17 games with a hamstring injury. He was 1 for 20 at the plate to begin the season, but had two hits Wednesday, including an RBI double, before the injury occurred.
