ST. PETERSBURG (WDAE) -- The Rays rotation is about to get a boost.
The team annund the left-hander and reigning American League Cy Young Award winner Blake Snell will be activated from the 10-day injured list and start Wednesday's finale against Kansas City.
Snell was injured on April 14 when the granite base of a decorative stand fell on his foot and broke the fourth toe on his right foot. The left-hander threw a 20-pitch bullpen session on Saturday and a handful of pitches off the mound, and was deemed ready to return
Tampa Bay will have to make a roster move before Wednesday's game to activate Snell.
