PORT CHARLOTTE (WDAE) -- The Tampa Bay Rays made a second day of roster cuts Sunday, removing eight more players from major league camp.
Four players were optioned to the minors: catcher Nick Ciuffo, right-handed pitchers Jake Faria and Andrew Moore and infielder/outfielder Andrew Velazquez.
Four others were reassigned to minor-league camp: right-handed pitchers Tyler Cloyd and Ian Gardeck, and infielders Jake Cronenworth and Nick Solak.
The Rays now have 49 players remaining in big-league camp.
