DUFFY NOT READY TO RETURN YET: Third baseman Matt Duffy was originally scheduled to play in today's game, but was scratched Friday afternoon after experiencing more soreness than expected in his left hamstring after running the bases.

"I don't quite feel like I'm there yet," Duffy admitted Saturday morning. "It's obviously frustrating, but it kind of just feels like we're getting close and then we rip off the scab. That's the best I way I can describe it."

Duffy says for him to be ready for Opening Day, he'd have to get back in the lineup by March 16, but his goal is to ensure that this issue doesn't linger throughout the season.

"Even if it does get to the point where I have to start the season on the [injured list], that's better than having this be a couple month thing."

The third baseman has played in just one game this spring, back on February 28, after experiencing tightness in his hamstring while running the bases during a full-squad workout before the start of the Grapefruit League.
