The Georgia Bulldogs (11-18, 2-14) upset the Florida Gators (17-12, 9-7) 61-55 on Saturday night in Gainesville.
Nicolas Claxton was the best player on the floor, scoring a game-high 25 points for Georgia in the win. Georgia led by as many as ten points in the first half of this game, but the Gators pushed back, taking their first lead of the game in the final minutes of the first half before taking a 28-27 lead into halftime.
Georgia had an answer in the second half, and it started with Claxton. All told he finished with 9-of-12 shooting for Georgia, and down the stretch hit a huge layup and scored on a spinning move the next possession. The Gators were led by 13 points from Jalen Hudson off the bench.
The Florida Gators will wait to see how damaging this loss is to their postseason aspirations as March comes down the stretch. The Gators are back in action on Wednesday night against #13 LSU in Gainesville. First pitch is set for 7 PM - hear all the action on AM 1250 WHNZ throughout Tampa Bay.
