Kentucky Rallies Past Gators 65-54

The seventh-ranked Kentucky Wildcats (18-3, 7-1) rallied to defeat the Florida Gators (12-9, 4-4) 65-54 on Saturday afternoon in Gainesville.

The Gators began this game very well, including building a 33-29 lead at halftime. In the second half, however, Kentucky joined together and went on a 14-0 run late in the second half to turn the game around. Tyler Herro led the way with 19 points for the Wildcats, while P.J. Washington added a double-double with fifteen points and twelve rebounds.

Florida was looking for a resume-building win against a top ten team, but couldn't hold on and came away from the day looking like a team bound for the NIT. Andrew Nembhard led the scoring with twelve points for the Gators,, while KeVaughn Allen and Jalen Hudson added eleven. Keyontae Johnson also grabbed ten rebounds for the home team.

Florida looks to bounce back as they go on the road to battle Auburn on Tuesday. Tipoff Tuesday night is scheduled for 9 PM and can be heard throughout Tampa Bay on AM 1250 WHNZ.
