Gators Fall to TCU 55-50 In SEC-Big 12 Challenge

The Florida Gators (11-8) fell to the TCU Horned Frogs (15-4) 55-50 on Saturday afternoon in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge.

TCU scored the first 11 points of the game and built an 18-3 lead more than midway through the first half as the Gators started the game shooting 1-for-15 from the field.  The Gators were able to mount a feverish rally in the second half, tying the game twice including for the final time at with about twelve and a half minutes to go in the game.  However, Kouat Noi took over at that point, scoring the next five points for TCU, and the Horned Frogs would come away with a home win against the visiting Gators.

Noi scored a game high 22 points for TCU, while Desmond Bane added 17 points for a Horned Frog team that won its seventh consecutive home game.   The Gators were led by 11 points from KeVaughn Allen, who was the only player for Florida to reach double figures.

Florida now returns to action on Tuesday when they play host to the 20th ranked Ole Miss Rebels.  Tipoff from Gainesville is set for 6:30 PM and can be heard throughout Tampa Bay on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
