Rays Will Go To Arbitration With Pham

ST. PETERSBURG (95.3 WDAE) -- The Tampa Bay Rays had until 1:00 Friday afternoon to avoid heading to arbitration with their four eligible players, but could only come up with three deals.

Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports that the Rays were able to avoid going to arbitration with third baseman Matt Duffy, reliever Chaz Roe, and catcher Mike Zunino, but will head to arbitration with outfielder Tommy Pham.

Roe will get $1.275 million from Tampa Bay for 2019 according to Robert Murray of The Athletic, while Mark Feinsand of MLB.com says Zunino's deal for next season will pay him $4.4125 million plus bonus incentives.

Details on Duffy's deal for 2019 have not been reported, but the third baseman made $950,000 in his first year of arbitration in 2018.

UPDATE 3:03 p.m.: The Rays have made the deals with Duffy, Roe and Zunino official, and confirm they will proceed to arbitartion with Pham.
