Florida Gators Destroy Michigan Wolverines In Peach Bowl 41-15

The Florida Gators defense showed up in a big way as they easily take care of the Michigan Wolverines with a 41-15 win in the Chik-Fil-A Peach Bowl in Atlanta, GA.  A pair of interceptions by Chauncey Gardner-Johnson led to 14 points including a interception for a touchdown as Florida outscored the Wolverines 28-5 in the second half rolling to their 10th win in the debut season of head coach Dan Mullen.

The Gators offense took a while to get going in the first half as they managed only a pair of Evan McPherson field goals on their first four possessions, but Felipe Franks and the Gators offense got things going down 10-6 late in the second quarter.  Franks led the Gators on an eight play drive for 75 yards and scored the Gators first touchdown of the game on a 20 yard touchdown keeper to give the Gators a three point lead at 13-10.

Florida would not find themselves behind again in the contest as Florida outscored 28-5 for the remainder of the game as the Gators scored on their next three drives.  Franks finding Lamical Perine for a five yard touchdown catch and score making it 20-10.  Jordan Scarlett got into the scoring with a 1 yard touchdown run giving the Gators a 17 point lead at 27-10 in the third quarter.  Perine added another score in the fourth quarter with a 53 yard touchdown run on a 3rd and 20 play to put the dagger into the hearts of Michigan fans taking the Gators to a 34-13 lead late. 

The Gators offense out gained the Wolverines 418-277 including out rushing Michigan 248-71 on the ground.  Michigan came into the game averaging 214.3 rushing yards per game.  Franks finished the game 13-23 for 173 yards passing and the lone touchdown.  Shae Patterson finished the game 19-30 for 206 yards and 2 interceptions with a lone touchdown pass to Donovan Peoples-Jones.

The Florida Gators win 10 games in the debut season of Dan Mullen after finishing 4-7 the previous year.
