REPORT: Jays Considering Baldelli For Skipper

ST. PETERSBURG (620 WDAE) -- The Tampa Bay Rays have had one coach already interviewing for a managerial position, and now a second team inside the American League East could be looking at Kevin Cash's staff for their next skipper.

Shi Davidi of Rogers Sportsnet reports that Major league field coordinator Rocco Baldelli is one of the people being considered to replace John Gibbons as manager of the Toronto Blue Jays.

After a seven-year career in the big leagues as a player that was derailed by injuries and illness, Baldelli joined the Rays front office as a special assistant and roving instructor.  He was named Kevin Cash's first base coach in 2015, and transitioned to his current post for this past season.
