The Lightning were strong for two periods, but the third was a different story.

After holding a 2-0 lead heading to the final stanza, the Panthers answered back with three unanswered goals to defeat Tampa Bay 3-2 on Tuesday night at Amalie Arena.

Evgenii Dadonov, Aaron Ekblad and Aleksander Barkov all scored in the 3rd period to lead the Panthers to the win.

Neither team scored in the opening stanza, but it didn't take long for the Bolts to open the scoring in the 2nd.

After Colton Sceviour was sent off for High Sticking at 3:02, the Lightning's man-advantage went to work.

Mathieu Joseph sped down the left boards and found a wide-open Adam Erne in the slot. Erne quickly snapped a shot over the glove of Panthers goalie James Reimer to give Tampa Bay a 1-0 lead.

The score stayed that way until just past the midway mark of the 2nd.

Steven Stamkos came down the left wing and right as he was about to be swarmed by two Florida defenders, he found Alex Killorn heading towards the goal. Killorn quickly snapped a shot past the blocker of Reimer to give the Bolts a 2-0 lead.

Reimer stopped 27 shots on the night. Lightning netminder Andrei Vasilevskiy made 25 saves on 28 total shots.

UH OH - The Lightning announced in the middle of the 2nd period that RW Nikita Kucherov sustained a lower-body injury and would not return to the game.
