The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were back on the practice field on Tuesday, and it was a day that appeared painful for Tampa Bay. Left tackle Donovan Smith went down with an apparent left knee injury, and appeared to be in a lot of discomfort as he left the field. This came moments after safety Justin Evans was carted off the field, and though Dirk Koetter could not offer an update after practice, the hope is that neither injury will be very severe.
"That's probably one of Donovan's best characteristics...he's been very durable over the course of his career," Koetter said to the media after practice. "Obviously we're hoping for the best, we just have to see what happens."
It wasn't all bad news for the Buccaneers on Tuesday, as Vernon Hargreaves returned to the practice field as he recovers from a groin injury, and made some key plays, including a sack during the team period. "He looked quick, he looked fast, he was communicating...it was good to have him back," Koetter told the media after practice.
Dirk Koetter said he is very happy with the linebacker battle, comparing it's depth to the position battles taking place on the receiving corps. To hear his full comments, listen below.
