The Tampa Bay Rays are going to get another top pitching prospect from their July 31 trade of Chris Archer.
John Dreker of Pirates Prospects reports that the Rays will receive right-hander Shane Baz as the player to be named later in the deal. The report has been confirmed by Mark Feinsand of MLB.com.
Baz was the Pirates top draft pick in 2017, taken 12th overall out of Concordia Lutheran High School in Tomball, Texas. The 19-year-old has made ten starts this year for Bristol in the Appalachian League, going 4-3 with a 3.97 earned run average. He was ranked the #4 prospect in the Pirates organization according to MLB.com.
