(via Tampa Bay Buccaneers Communications) - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced that the team has signed offensive lineman Jerry Ugokwe (pronounced “u-go-kway”) and waived (non-football injury) defensive end Channing Ward.
Ugokwe (6-7, 315) originally entered the league as a college free agent with the Indianapolis Colts in 2017. He spent the 2017 offseason with the Colts, before being claimed off of waivers by the New Orleans Saints. He was waived by the Saints prior to the start of the 2017 season and spent time on the Washington Redskins practice squad later that year. A native of Bowie, Maryland, Ugokwe played collegiately at William & Mary. He will wear No. 73 for Tampa Bay.
