MMA Fighter Avenges Father's Loss 14 Years Later

There have been some great family storylines in MMA. The Diaz Brothers, the Schevchenko sisters, I could go on and on. As we are still really only about 25 years into the history of the sport we haven't seen many father-son storylines play out other than Randy Couture and his son Ryan. Last night Randy was cageside for one of the coolest father-son storylines in the history of sports. Ray Cooper III already entered last night as a huge underdog to former champion and grizzled veteran, Jake Shields. Cooper then had the pressure of the fact that Shields had defeated his father, Ray Cooper Jr. 14 years prior when the younger Cooper was only 11 years old. At some point age hits every fighter and it looked like that happened last night. Cooper who was virtually unknown before last night made Shields look like an amateur on his way to a 2nd round TKO victory. Check out the stoppage below:
