Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sign Ronald Jones II To Contract

(via Tampa Bay Buccaneers Communications) - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today that the team has signed running back Ronald Jones II, the first of Tampa Bay’s three second-round picks in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Jones (5-11, 208) was chosen 38th overall, out of USC. In three seasons with the Trojans, the McKinney, Texas, native rushed 591 times for 3,619 yards (6.1 avg.) and 39 touchdowns, while adding 32 catches for 301 yards and three touchdowns. In 2017, Jones rushed for 1,550 yards, the eighth-most in the NCAA and the eighth-most in a single season in USC history. He added 19 rushing touchdowns, the fifth-most in the country and tied for the fourth-most in a single season in school history.

Following his junior year (2017), Jones was selected as an All-American by Pro Football Focus (first-team), Sports On Earth (second-team), the Associated Press (third-team) and Phil Steele (fourth-team), among others. He was also named first-team All-Pac-12 by numerous outlets and was a finalist for the Doak Walker Award, given annually to the top running back in the country.

The Buccaneers have now signed all eight of their selections from the 2018 NFL Draft.
