The last two head coaches of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers lasted just two seasons each. Dirk Koetter will not follow in the footsteps of Greg Schiano and Lovie Smith.
Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reported Friday afternoon that the Glazer family informed the Bucs head coach that he will return for the 2018 season.
Koetter is 13-18 with one game to play in his second season as head coach. The Buccaneers have suffered through two five-game losing streaks in 2017 and rumors of Jon Gruden have swirled as the team has floundered this year.
Stroud, who joined Steve Carney and Len Martez on 620 WDAE Friday afternoon, also believes defensive coordinator Mike Smith could also return next season if he is not offered a head coaching position.
