(via Tampa Bay Buccaneers Communications) - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today that the team has signed kicker Patrick Murray and placed kicker Nick Folk on Injured Reserve with a minor injury classification.
Murray (5-7, 182) originally entered the league as a college free agent with the Buccaneers in 2014 and served as the team’s kicker that season, going 20-of-24 (83.3 pct.) on field goals and 31-of-31 on extra point attempts. After spending the 2015 season on Injured Reserve, Murray was signed by the Cleveland Browns in 2016, playing in two games. In his career, Murray has played in 18 games, making 21-of-26 field goal attempts (80.8 pct.) and going 34-of-35 on extra points (97.1 pct.).
The team also announced that defensive end Patrick O’Connor has been signed to the practice squad. O’Connor (6-4, 270) was a seventh-round pick (250th overall) by the Detroit Lions in the 2017 NFL Draft. The Chicago native, who played collegiately at Eastern Michigan, spent this past offseason and preseason with the Lions.
