Senior Manny Martinez was solid in relief and Riverview got a clutch RBI single from Dillon Besnier to defeat Bloomingdale and claim the Class 8A-District 6 championship. An RBI single from Freddy Tarnok and a two-run double by Justin Farmer keyed a quick start for the Sharks, but Bloomingdale came back as a Sam Gonzalez pinch-hit double and a Nate Chevalier RBI single trimmed the lead in the fourth, and a Jett Davis squeeze bunt tied things at three apiece. But Martinez, was solid after that working 2 2/3 innings the rest of the way to earn the win.
