The Rays again filled their 40-man roster Friday, selecting the contract of left-handed reliever Justin Marks from Durham.
Marks has appeared in nine games with the Bulls, going 4-1 with a 4.60 ERA in eight relief appearances and a start. He was called up by the Rays at the end of the 2016 season, making four appearances out of the bullpen and allowing just a single run in nine innings of work. Overall, Marks has no record with a 3.27 ERA in five relief appearances.
To make room for Marks on the active roster, Tampa Bay optioned right-hander Chih-Wei Hu to Durham. Hu made a pair of relief appearances for the Rays, allowing just a single unearned run in 1.2 innings of work.
