Seffner Christian (12-4, 5-3 in Class 3A-District 4) got a win on the mound from Andrew Rodriguez, who struck out three and allowed three runs. Will Gilbert earned the save coming on in relief in the seventh with no outs and a runner on third base. Troy Devault hit a home run and scored three runs for the Crusaders. Will Gilbert, Jacob Beauchamp and James Peeler had doubles for SCA. For Carrollwood Day (15-6, 5-2 in 3A-4), Frank Furey was 3-for-4 and Noah Torres went 2-for-2 with an RBI.
Cambridge Christian 9, Canterbury 5 (eight innings)
Cambridge Christian (16-4) junior Jacob Krueger earned the win tossing 3 2/3 innings of shutout relief allowing just one hit as the Lancers topped Canterbury in relief. Krueger also added some offense going 2-for-5 with an RBI, while Austin Carter went 2-for-3 with two RBI, Austin Hessinger had three hits, scored twice and had a stolen base, Sevas Cardona was 2-for-4 with three RBI in the Lancers win.
