PORT CHARLOTTE (620 WDAE) -- The Tampa Bay Rays will welcome a split-squad of the Boston Red Sox to Charlotte Sports Park for the final time in 2017, as Blake Snell gets the start against Shawn Haviland.  First pitch is scheduled for 1:05, with coverage on WDAE beginning at 12:30 with Countdown to Opening Day.

RASMUS LIKELY TO START YEAR ON DISABLED LIST: Outfielder Colby Rasmus has been working as the designated hitter since returning from a pair of season-ending surgeries, but has yet to see the field in game situations, and said Saturday that he may not be ready to play in the field before Opening Day, which means he'll most likely start the season on the 10-day disabled list.

"Colby has made huge strides here the last couple of days," manager Kevin Cash said.  "We've all spent time talking with him.  I think it's a pretty good thought process that he has saying that when he comes out and plays the field, he wants to make sure he feels good that he can track a ball down in the gap, and he's not quite there yet."
