Wednesday's Starting Lineup, Diaz In Camp

SARASOTA (620 WDAE) -- The Tampa Bay Rays will play their final night contest of the Grapefruit League, as they head to Ed Smith Stadium for a matchup against the Baltimore Orioles.  Chris Archer will get the start, taking on Chris Lee.  First pitch i sscheduled for 6:05, with coverage on WDAE starting at 6:00.

DUFFY HEADING BACK TO DOC: Shortstop Matt Duffy, who has yet to play after undergoing season-ending heel surgery last year, said he'll be flying to Charlotte to meet with Dr. Bob Anderson, who performed the surgery.

"It doesn't quite seem to be progressing the way that we'd like," Duffy said Wednesday.  "I figure tomorrow I'll get some answers."

Duffy has performed some baseball activities, but has yet to start running, and will almost undoubtedly start the season on the disabled list.

DIAZ ARRIVES IN CAMP: Reliever Jumbo Diaz, who was claimed off waivers from the Cincinnati Reds while he was with Team Dominican Republic in the World Baseball Classic, arrived in Port Charlotte Wednesday to meet his new teammates and coaches.

"I'm glad to be here and with this team," Diaz said.

The reliever, listed at 6'4" and 280 pounds, said he had already met with bullpen coach Stan Boroski, and was scheduled to throw a mini-bullpen session before playing in a game Thursday.
