HEADS WILL BE SHAVED FOR CUT FOR A CURE: The team will be participating once again in the Pediatric Cancer Foundation's "Cut For A Cure."

"It's a special day," manager Kevin Cash said.  "I know Longo has a unique connection with that family and it's something that's become a Rays tradition."

Last year, 50 players, coaches, staff and fans shaved their heads to raise more than $15,000 for the Pediatric Cancer Foundation.  The Rays skipper, who shaved his head last season, said he'll donate but not shave this year.

"I'm starting to get thin up here.  I've got to be careful," Cash joked.  "It's good support from the players, from the staff.  It seems like everybody gets involved.  It's a fun charitable event that we're glad to be a part of."

This year, fans can participate with a minimum $25 donation and receive a special "Cut For A Cure" hat from New Era.

ARCHER WILL NOT REJOIN TEAM USA: Many baseball people thought that if Team USA advanced to the semifinals of the World Baseball Classic (which it did thanks to Saturday night's 6-3 win over Dominican Republic), that pitcher Chris Archer would be on a plane to Los Angeles to pitch in either the semi-final or championship game.  However, after preparing for a Sunday flight to Dodger Stadium, plans changed for the Rays starter.
