Patrick Morris threw a complete game shutout giving up 2 hits and striking out 9. 

A 5 run 6th for the Warriors on two bases loaded walks and a 3-run double by Jordan Lala was the difference in the game.

Cambridge Christian 5, Bell Creek Academy 0

Cambridge Christian (2-2) junior Michael McCarty tossed a complete-game shutout and improved to 2-0 on the mound for the Lancers. McCarty, a lefthander, scattered five Bell Creek hits, while striking out three. Junior Austin Hessinger went 3-for-3 for the Lancers, while sophomore Duane Drummond had a pair of hits … Bell Creek senior Pablo Molina, was 2-for-3, while junior Jaedyn Braden had a double in the loss.

Clearwater Central Catholic 3, Tampa Prep 0

Lakeland Christian 6, Seffner Christian 3

Calvary Christian 13, Tampa Catholic 4

Tampa Catholic (1-2) junior Julian Pichardo was 2-for-3, with a home run and three RBI, while Mitchell Carter, Conor Grady and Jonathan Rodrigues each had doubles in the loss.

Strawberry Crest 3, Plant City 1

Strawberry Crest (3-0) scored three runs in the top of the first after sophomore Jacob Heath cashed in a pair of walks with a two-run double, and a passed ball added the third run. Heath was 2-for-3 in the win. On the mound, sophomore lefty Alex Marshall worked a complete game, allowing no earned runs, no walks, and just four hits.

Jefferson 18, Middleton 0

Tampa bay Tech 5, Brandon 4 (eight innings)

TBT (1-2) clawed its way to a first win of the season as Brandon errors and a Joseph Lewis RBI single allowed the Titans to score three runs in the seventh to tie the game, and a pair of runs after Brandon scored in the top of the eighth to get the win.

Next up: Brandon (2-1) vs. Armwood, Thurs, 7; Tampa Bay Tech (1-2) at Wharton, Thurs, 7.

 

Leto 4, Hillsborough 3

The Falcons got a strong start from Jacob Riley, who allowed just one run over five innings of work for Leto (3-0). Felix Rosario allowed a pair of Terriers’ runs, but held on to finish the game and earn the save behind strong defense including a game ending, bases loaded, double-play. Leto got some solid work at the plate from Andres MoralES (RBI sac fly) and Tommy Lozano.

“Both teams played really well, with good defense and good pitching. We just ended up with one run more than they did,” Leto coach JJ Pizzio said.

Next up: Leto vs. Gaither, Thurs, 7; Hillsborough (2-1) at King, Thurs, 7.

 

Gaither 11, Freedom 6

Chipper Holland went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI, Danny Gutcher added a pair of runs scored and an RBI double, while Jayson Gonzalez drove in a pair in the Gaither (2-1) win.

Next up: Gaither @ Leto, Thurs, 7; Freedom vs. Steinbrenner, Thurs, 7.


King 6, Chamberlain 1

King was led by strong pitching from Brian Lee and  Michael Stone and the hitting leaders were Dehreon Pressley 3 hits, Greg Barone 2 hits & 1 RBI and Danny Terp 1 hit & 2 RBI's. Up next is Hillsborough on Thursday.
