Cash Says Duffy Still On Track In Rehab

PORT CHARLOTTE (620 WDAE) -- Shortstop Matt Duffy, coming back from season-ending surgery on his left Achilles tendon, took ground balls again on the back field at Charlotte Sports Park Tuesday under the watchful eyes of manager Kevin Cash, who served as the second baseman for Duffy's flips, and head athletic trainer Ron Porterfield.

"He looks good," Cash said Tuesday.  "That's two days [in a row] now that he felt pretty good.  Tomorrow I would imagine he'll take probably a slower day.  But he had a really good workout yesterday staying back, and today he looks fine."

Cash said that the training staff hasn't mentioned any sort of issues the shortstop might be having, so he appears to still be on target to get in Spring Training games sometime in Mid-March.
