The Tampa Bay Lightning announced prior to Thursday's game that they have made a trade with the Montreal Canadiens.
Defenseman Nikita Nesterov goes from Tampa Bay to Montreal, and in exchange, the Bolts will receive defenseman Jonathan Racine along with a sixth-round draft pick in the 2017 Draft.
The 23-year-old Russian, in his third season in the NHL, has three goals and nine assists for a total of 12 points in 35 games. In 119 career games with the Lightning, Nesterov had eight career goals and 20 assists.
Racine, also 23, has played in just one career NHL game. That came in 2013-2014 with the Florida Panthers. He was drafted in the third round, 87th overall in the 2011 Entry Draft, and was acquired by Montreal from Florida on October 6.
