USF Stays Winless In Conference With Loss To Tulsa

The University of South Florida failed to get their first conference win Saturday, as Corey Henderson Jr.'s 22 points led the Tulsa Golden Hurricane to a 79-67 win over the Bulls Saturday at the Sun Dome.

The Bulls struggled through the first 15 minutes of the game, with the team outside of guard Troy Halston starting just 2-14 from the floor and finding themselves down 32-17 before USF went on a 13-3 run to end the half to trail just five points at 35-30.

USF would eventually cut the lead to a single point at 38-37 before Tulsa started to stretch their lead back out.  The Golden Hurricane would eventually push their lead back to 13 at 74-61 before taking their foot off the gas pedal.

Halston and Ruben Guerrero led the Bulls with 16 points apiece, while Pat Birt had 15 points and Junior Etou pitched in 11 for the Golden Hurricane.

The Bulls (6-12, 0-7 American) have another difficult challenge in front of them Wednesday, as the Connecticut Huskies come to the USF Sun Dome, with tip-off scheduled for 7:00.
