Lightning Fall To Oilers

The Edmonton Oilers (16-10-2) defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning (14-10-2) 2-1 late Tuesday night in Edmonton. Jake Guentzel scored the lone goal of the night for Tampa Bay.

Connor McDavid scored in the first period for Tampa Bay, before Jake Guentzel scores in the second to tie the game 1-1. The game-winning goal would come later in the second - after a breakaway, Leon Draistal's backhand was stopped by Andrei Vasilevskiy, but it hit off the skate of Victor Hedman through Vasy's legs for a goal.

The Lightning appeared to tie the game with nine seconds left when a puck went in following a scramble in front of the net, but the goal was immediately called off for being played with a high stick by Tampa Bay forward Nick Paul.

The Lightning now travel Calgary and will play the Flames on Thursday night. Puck drop between the Lightning and Flames is scheduled for 9:00 PM Thursday evening.
