The Tampa Bay Lightning (13-9-2) blew out the San Jose Sharks (10-14-5) 8-1 on Thursday night at Amalie Arena.
Tampa Bay erupted for five goals in the first period to take control early. Brandon Hagel scored twice for Tampa Bay, while Brayden Point had four assists.
The Lightning now go on go on the road for the next four games beginning when they travel to Vancouver to take on the Canucks on Sunday. Puck drop between the Lightning and Canucks is scheduled for 4:00 PM on Sunday afternoon.
