USF Routs Syracuse In Boca Raton Bowl

The USF Bulls (7-6) shut out Syracuse (6-7) 45-0 on Thursday night in the RoofClaim.com Boca Raton Bowl on Thursday night.

Byrum Brown went 19-for-26 with 214 yards passing and three touchdowns on the night. He added 64 rushing yards and finished the season with more than 4101 total yards in his redshirt freshman campaign. He became the second USF Bulls quarterback in school history to 4000 total yards, joining Quinton Flowers who had 4339 yards in the 2016 season.

The Bulls took control of this game early with a 14-0 first quarter lead and led 31-0 at halftime. Brown hit Sean Atkins six times - the junior wide receiver had 93 receiving yards and two touchdown grabs. Junior Naiem Simmons added 56 receiving yards, while junior Khafre Brown grabbed a 31-yard touchdown catch in the secon quarter.

USF finished with a 7-6 record in the first year of head coach Alex Golesh, an hope to build on that success as they head into the 2024 season.
