Seminoles Block Extra Point With No Time Left To Beat LSU

The Florida State Seminoles (2-0) defeated the LSU Tigers (0-1) 24-23 on Sunday night in New Orleans.

The Seminoles built leads of 17-3 in the third quarter and 24-10 in the fourth quarter, but LSU battled back. Moments after Jaray Jenkins scored to pull LSU within 24-17, FSU's Treshaun Ward fumbled the football away with 1:20 to go in the game.

LSU took advantage when Jaray Jenkins caught a two-yard touchdown pass from Jayden Daniels with no time left on the clock to pull within 24-23. However, the Seminoles blocked an extra point try by LSU and held on for the victory.

Jordan Travis went 20-for-32 with 260 yards and two touchdowns passing, while adding another 31 yards on the ground. Ontaria Wilson was his favorite target, as he had seven receptions for 102 yards and two touchdowns.

The Seminoles next return to action when they go on the road to play Louisville on Friday night September 1th. Kickoff in that game is scheduled for 7:30 PM at Cardinal Stadium in Louisville, Kentucky.
