Tampa Bay Rays' Brett Phillips Has an Incredible Connection With Number 35

Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Brett Phillips has had a weird connection with the number 35 since his return to Tampa Bay to play for his hometown team.

Phillips grew up in Seminole, where he played baseball with his best friend, Nate Richardson.

Nate was tragically killed in a car accident in April 2009. He wore the number 35.

The video below shows Brett gifting his Rays jersey with the number 35 to Nate's mother, while telling the story of his friendship with Nate, and Brett being able to pick that number when he was acquired by the Rays last season.

If this doesn't bring you to tears, then you just don't get it.
