Kyle Trask Record Day Leads Florida Gators To Win Over Ole Miss

A career day for Florida Gators quarterback Kyle Trask as the senior threw for a career high 415 yards and six touchdowns as Florida routs Ole Miss in their conference opener 51-35.Trask becomes the first Florida quarterback to throw for six touchdowns in an opener against an SEC opponent.

Trask opened the scoring for the Gators on his very first drive of the season in the orange and blue as he found tight end Kyle Pitts on a one-yard screen pass to get Florida on the board 7-0 early.Ole Miss would hang around Florida for much of the first half as Rebels’ quarterback Matt Corral had two touchdown passes to Dontario Drummond for the first two scores of the game tying the Gators at fourteen late in the second quarter.

Florida would pull away scoring 21 unanswered points as Trask threw for three more touchdowns including two to Pitts and one to wide receiver Kadarius Toney.Pitts finished the game with four touchdowns and 170 yards receiving as the Gators racked up 642 total yards of offense.The Rebels tried to keep pace with Dan Mullen’s high-powered offense as Corral passed for 395 yards and three touchdowns for Ole Miss as wide receiver Elijah Moore had 227 yards receiving for the Rebels.

The Gators will host South Carolina at the Swamp next Saturday at 12:00pm
