ST. PETERSBURG (WDAE) -- Tyler Glasnow threw seven innings to keep his undefeated streak going, and Avisail Garcia homered and drove in three as the Tampa Bay Rays defeated the Baltimore Orioles 4-2 Tuesday at Tropicana Field.
Glasnow allowed a single run in the first on a base hit by Rio Ruiz, and one in the third on a double by Renato Nunez, but in each case got out of the inning with just the single run allowed. Baltimore got six hits off Glasnow through the first three inning, but were held to just one hit -- a fourth-inning single by Jesus Sucre -- the rest of the way.
Tampa Bay finally got on the board in the fourth, as Tommy Pham led off the inning by drawing a walk from Dylan Bundy, extending his streak of reaching base safely to 48 consecutive games. Ji-Man Choi doubled him to third, and Yandy Diaz brought him in with a sacrifice fly to cut the deficit back to 2-1. Brandon Lowe struck out, but Garcia picked up his teammate with a two-run blast that gave the Rays the lead for good.
Garcia added an RBI single in the bottom of the eighth to set the score.
Glasnow (4-0) joins Matt Moore as the only Rays pitchers to win their first four decisions of the year with a no-decision, Jose Alvarado worked a 1-2-3 eighth and Diego Castillo had a perfect ninth to notch his second save of the year.
Tampa Bay can earn their sixth straight series win to begin the season with a victory Wednesday.
